When you are too busy for anything else...

God says,
"I've  got a better idea..."

December 2014 looked busy.  I had a surgical procedure scheduled for me, zillions of specialist appointments for the boys and major surgery #3 for Little Lion. Add nearly 30 relatives coming to town for Christmas, our first Christmas since our mom's death, job changes, significant travel and the usual holiday busyness.  We had five boys, 4, 3, 3, 3, and 1.
Then, one day, I popped on my personal facebook account. I get on maybe every couple months...A picture and a frantic plea caught my eye and grabbed my heart.  A teen needed a host home for Christmas. He would be arriving in less than 2 weeks and out of hundreds of hosted kids, no family had chosen him yet.  I shared. (I never share, like never, but I had to do something!) A day or two passed and I saw his picture being shared, with no results yet.  When Daniel came home that night, we were busy frantically bundling the kids up to take them to holiday parade.  Carrying kids down the stairs, I suddenly glanced up at my husband and without hardly thinking said "what would you think of hosting a Ukrainian teen orphan boy for Christmas, huh?" I was only kidding, I mean half kidding. ;) After all, I'm  the one who is always saying "Hey, I heard about this child and we could...."  and Daniel is our family's sensible brakes....  But he stopped and said immediately, "Oh? I'd  like to hear about that, show me his picture and maybe you can read to me about it while we drive, we should really talk about that..."
I was so surprised.  But bigger surprises were coming...
